I'm Edmund Morgan, a wooden boat builder from/based in Guernsey.

I originally trained as a joiner before moving into traditional boat building. These days I spend most of my time restoring, repairing and building wooden boats.

Recent work includes building an 18-foot carvel-planked motor launch from scratch, as well as the ongoing restoration of Fawn, built in Guernsey in 1883, and Driftwood, built in Sark in 1992.

I've also restored Sport, a boat with an unusual history. She was found drifting off Port Grat during the First World War without her crew and later survived the bombing of St Peter Port in 1940 while returning from fishing.

Alongside my day-to-day work, I helped set up the Guernsey Historic Wooden Boat Association. We're trying to preserve some of the island's remaining wooden boats and record their history.

One day I'd like to build a replica of one of the Guernsey mackerel drifters (see image below) that used to fish from Rocquaine.
