Fawn

Built in 1883 in Guernsey

The three photos below demonstrate her iterations over the years:

-racing at the Grand Havre regatta with original spritsail rig. (photo early 1900’s)

-converted to a fishing vessel in the 1970’s

-converted again to a gaff-rig by current owner in 1996 he has had her for over 40 years and has commissioned her restoration. (photo under sail circa 1999)

She had been laid up for 25 years and vegetation growth made for a tricky extraction to the workshop.

She is now in the workshop braced and ready for a new centreline. Note lumps of oak.

Newspaper clipping from when Fawn sunk and was salvaged.
